Gifu Castle (岐阜城)

Information : On the top of Mt.Inaba (Kinkazan), Gifu castle (called Inabayama castle at that time) , built by Yukimasa Nikaido during Kamakura period, is located. The castle was ruined until the 16 th century After Yukifuji Nikaido died . During Sengoku period , Dosan Saito became a lord of this castle and fought against Nobunaga Oda.

In 1910, the main castle tower (Tenshu) was reconstructed , however it was burned down by accidental fire in 1943. The present castle was rebuilt in 1954.
