Ikou-ji Teien – Garden

Information : Ikou-ji Teien | 医光寺庭園

It is a garden designed by Sesshu(雪舟) who was a black-and-white drawing painter on behalf of Japan. The mountain built with stones expresses Horai Island (Isle-of-Eternal-Youth island) in China. This temple was erected in 1363 by Masuda clan, and originally the gate in the entrance uses to be the main gate (Ote-mon) of Nanao Castle.

Hours : Mar – Oct | 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Nov – Feb | 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
