Kawagoe Castle (川越城)

Information: Kawagoe castle also called Kirigakure castle was built in 1457 by Dokan Ohta who also built Edo castle later. During Odawara war, Toshiie Maeda came to attack here and the castle was fell. During Edo period, the area surround Kawagoe castle was called “Koedo”(Lit: Mini Edo) . Most parts around this castle were dismantled but the main palace was relocated and has existed.

According to its official site, the main palace has been constructed from Oct 2008 to Mar 2011.

Hours: 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.? Monday Closed

Fee: 100 yen
