Ryoan-ji Teien | 龍安寺庭園

Information :

It is told that the garden in Ryoan-ji also called rock garden(Sekitei:石庭) made in 1499. Though regrettable, many buildings were burned down by the fire in 1797, and the present building was reconstructed then. It is the mystery which who built this garden. All the stones of 15 at the site of 247 squeare meter can not be seen from anywhere like s doctrine of Zen. It is also unknown what the creater wanted to express in this garden. Everything is up to what those who visit here think.

Mar – Nov | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Dec – Feb | 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Close : This temple will be closed from 1st Jan to 25th Feb in 2010.
