There are many spots to be visited in Nagano. National treasure “Matsumoto castle”, the sacred spot? “Suwa taisha (shrine)” and Obuse area which is famous as Basho Matsuo stayed. Matsushiro area is also one of them and there is a big battle called “The battle of Kawanakajima” fought in the Sengoku Period between Takeda Shingen of Kai Province and Uesugi Kenshin of Echigo Province at near this area.
