Kamigamo Jinja

Kamigamo jinja (上賀茂神社) is officially called Kamo wake ikazuchi shrine (賀茂別雷神社) and the most important shrine in Yamashiro province now called Kyoto province. This shrine has been designed as one of the world heritage “Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto” in 1994.

This shrine was established in 678 A.D.
