Tango province’s most important shrine – Kono Jinja (籠神社)

This shrine was founded more than 2,000 years ago. Before moving to Ise Jingu, Amaterasu and Toyouke was mainly worshiped here and Kono jinja is called Moto Ise (lit; The origin of Ise ).? Enshrined deity Hikohoakari is as same god as Kamowakeikazuchi no m(Deity at Kamigamo Jinja).
